Claudia Wieser, an artist based in Berlin, studied Fine Art at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste München. Before that she had an apprenticeship as a blacksmith and used to work on several feature film productions as a set designer. Coming from a crafts and set design background, her work balances between Fine Arts and design, architecture, craftsmanship, and interior design. She creates drawings, sculptures, wall installations and tapestries based on the principle of geometric abstraction to create full environments to transform the exhibition space.
Claudia Wieser has received stipends and residencies which have included: Deutsche Akademie Rom, Villa Massimo, the City Grant of Munich, and Stiftung Kunstfonds, Bonn.
