Michelle ALPERIN (US)

Michelle Alperin works with video installation, experimental and narrative film and video, as well as with still photography. Born in Los Angeles, California, she got her BA in Fine Art from UCLA in 1994 and her MFA in Fine Art from Art Center College of Design in 2001. Shortly after receiving her MFA, she stayed as an artist in residence at the Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin. After her residency, Michelle split her time between Los Angeles and Berlin, finally settling in Berlin after receiving a DAAD Independent Study Stipend at the end of 2003.  Her most recent exhibition was a two-person show at Zwitschermaschine, Berlin in April 2018, where she showed a new three-channel video piece.  Michelle has taught video art in the Fine Arts Department foundation course of the UdK, Berlin since April 2017.
