Ulrike Schmitz uses photography as a way of systematically searching for an understanding of the world, utilizing conceptual approaches often em- ployed in scientific research. She studied photography at Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie in Berlin. Schmitz has currently been selected for the international exhibition and publication project reGeneration3 of the Musée de l‘Elysée, Lausanne, Switzerland. Her work has been exhibited in Germany and interna- tionally; German Russian Museum, Berlin; Museo Amparo, Puebla, Mexico; Art Foundation (metamatic:taf), Athens; Historical Museum, Sofia; Voies Off Festival, Arles, France; Head On Photo Festival, Sydney and Photoville, New York. She is a member of the Berlin-based project room and collective exp12.
