Conny Becker (DE)

Conny Becker  is an independent journalist, author and curator. Trained as a pharmacist and scientific journalist, since 2006 her interests have focused on contemporary art. While studying art history at Humboldt University in Berlin (BA), she begun as an art critique and developed a curatorial practice. She edited the publications Metropolitan Views: Art Scenes in Berlin and London, (Deutscher Kunstverlag, Berlin/Munich 2008) and Metropolitan Views: Art Scenes in Berlin 1989-2009 (Deutscher Kunstverlag, Berlin/Munich 2010) as well as several exhibition catalogs. Exhibitions she curated include Family Jewels at Bahnwärterhaus der Villa Merkel, Esslingen (2009/10) and State of the Union in Freies Museum Berlin (2011). Currently she is involved in organizing the exhibition Arte Postale at the Academy of Arts in Berlin and is one of the main authors for the accompanying catalog. She is also curating her second and third project at the non-profit space tête in Berlin and contributed to the catalog for the Luxemburg Pavilion as well as the general catalog of the Venice Biennial.

 
Conny was PICTURE BERLIN's curator in 2013.
Conny was a part of the Curatorial Marathon in 2014 and 2015.
Conny was also a curator for the project; INTERIORS TO BEING, celebrating 10 years of PICTURE BERLIN. She curated the program chapter: Raumanieignung
