LAERCIO REDONDO (BR)

Laercio Redondo (BR), a Brazilian born artist, received his MFA at Konstfack, University of Art, Crafts and Design in Stockholm, Sweden. In his artistic research Redondo engages extensively with collective memory and its erasure in society. His work is often based on the interpretation of specific events in relation to the city, architecture and historical representation.

Some of his recent exhibitions include the following group shows: Do Valongo à Favela, Museu de Arte do Rio, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 2014; Idea di Frattura – Opinione Latina / 2, Galleria Francesca Minini, Milan, Italy, 2014; Josephine Baker and Le Corbusier in Rio – a Transatlantic Affair, Museu de Arte do Rio, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 2014; Love and hate to Lygia Clark, Zachęta National Gallery of Art, Warsaw, Poland, 2013; The right to the city, Stedelijk Museum Bureau Amsterdam, Holland, 2013; and The Insides are on the Outside, curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist. His solo shows include Restoration (from the series Memory from Brasilia), die raum, Berlin, Germany, 2014; Façade, Galeria Silvia Cintra + Box 4, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 2014; Tales with no Kings, Casa França Brasil, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 2013.

Laercio will be doing an artist talk for Summer Session 2015.
