Elke Falat is an independent curator. She graduated with a degree in cultural studies at the University of Hildesheim and Médiation Cul- turelle at Université Marseille. From 2006 to 2009 she was director of the non profit art space Kunstverein Hildesheim while simultaneously teaching as a lecturer at the University of Hildesheim in the department of visual art. Some of the exhibitions she curated include: Garden City, Art and Urban Gardens (2009); Dear artist tell me - Art and Radio Play (Co-Curated with Julia Tieke) (2008); Observing beast, time, evolution (Co-Curated with Sabine Mila Kunz) (2008) Focus Egypt/Past/Present (2007). Elke was selected as a participating curator for the Gwangju Biennale International Curator Course in 2009; in 2010 she received the “Global Playground” research grant from Gyeonggi Creation Center, South Korea. In 2011 she curated the show What if they were right? at Galerie Antje Wachs, Berlin and was invited by Goethe Institute Bangalore as a resident curator for three months. She is currently based in Berlin and the Co-Director of LoBe (London Berlin), a non profit art space and residence program between artists from London and Berlin.
