Storm Janse van Rensburg is an independent contemporary art cura- tor based in Berlin. Before relocating from South Africa to Germany in 2012 he was senior curator at Goodman Gallery Cape Town (2007 – 2011) and curator of the KwaZulu Natal Society of Arts (KZNSA), Durban (2000 – 2006). He was a founding member of the Visual Arts Network of South Africa (VANSA). He has curated a number of group and solo exhibitions, most recently The Beautyful Ones at Nolan Judin, Berlin (2103), the traveling exhibition Oblique by Abrie Fourie (2012 - 2014) at Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin, Johannesburg Art Gallery, and Savannah College of Art and Design, USA; GhostBusters II with Nadine Siegert at SAVVY Contemporary (2013) and A temporary admission by Bridget Baker, National Arts Festival, South Africa (2014). He is co-curator for the Roundtables of Giving Contours to Shadows, a project by Neuer Berliner Kunstverein and SAVVY Contemporary (2014) and is a fellow at the Bayreuth Academy for Advanced African Studies (2013 - 2015). He has edited a number of exhibition catalogues and has written for African Arts Journal, Art South Africa and Canvas magazines amongst others.
