Valentina Culley-Foster (b. 1989) is a photographer currently based in Derry-Londonderry, Northern Ireland. She received a Foundation Diploma in Art/ Graphic Design from the London College of Communication, a part of The University of the Arts, London (2010). She received her Bachelor Honours in Photographic Arts from the University of Westminster, London (2013). Valentina‘s documentary photography focuses on landscape as well as portraiture themes. Images within her Boundaries and Borders series are based on conceptual ideas surrounding contemporary cultural debate. Her most recent projects display an ongoing interest in disappearing divides between people, communities, cultures and geographical, physical and spiritual places. Her book project, From the North to the Republic (Derry-Londonderry/County Donegal, 2013) explores similar themes of cultural division. Valentina‘s current series The Berlin Wall Trail: Space in Flux (Berlin, 2013) will also become a book.
