Anastasia Cazabon (US)

Night vision, 2015

This project stemmed from my own struggle with insomnia and sleep disorders. The works conveys the unsettling and unnerving feeling of not being able to control ones own body, and a basic function and necessity. I was exploring the feeling of being half-awake and seeing hallucinations that seemed to be based in reality. Similar to counting sheep, this activity of photographing at night helped soothe my mind and give me focus, rather then focusing on the need for sleep. These images revolve around the eeriness and loneliness of night, as well as the anxious feelings that come with voyeurism and being watched.
