Lydia Hamann (DE)
Lydia Hamann (*1979, GDR) lives and works in Berlin and Vienna. She studied art history in Berlin, then attended Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and art school Berlin Weissensee where she finished as Meisterschüler. She has exhibited conceptual collaborative projects and solo video works both nationally and internationally in a number of venues including istanbul biennial; Palais de grace, Buenos Aires; documenta 12, Kassel; Berlinale; nbk, Berlin; Kunstvlaai, Amsterdam; bag factory, Johannesburg; VBKÖ, Vienna; after the butcher, Berlin. Since 2005 she has been part of the projectspace raumerweiterungshalle and the projectspace of the atelier house flutgraben e.V., where she co-developed inverse institution. Since 2007 she works in a painter collective with artist Kaj Osteroth. They developed a painting dialogue which merges radical gesture and feminist art practice. Next to her art practice she is teaching on the subject of feminist painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna.
