Lisa McCarty (US)

Lisa McCarty (b. 1982) continues to be interested in rendering the perceivable and the phenomenological in a picture. Through the utilization of a variety of cameras and photographic processes she devotes herself to the pursuit, constantly testing the limits of her materials as well as the idea of the photographic document in both form and content. She has most recently exhibited her work at Civilian Art Projects in Washington, D.C., the American University Museum in Washington, D.C., Gutherie Contemporary in New Orleans, LA, Axiom Center for New and Experimental Media in Boston, MA, and at the X-Initiative, in New York, NY. She has also exhibited internationally with the dreieck.triangle.driehoek collective in Germany and Belgium. Lisa holds a BFA from George Mason University and has an MFA in Experimental and Documentary Arts from Duke University. Lisa is based in Durham, North Carolina, USA.
