Valentina Culley-Foster (b. 1989) is a photographer currently based in Derry-Londonderry, Northern Ireland. She received a Foundation Diploma in Art/ Graphic Design from the London College of Communication, a part of The University of the Arts, London (2010). She received her Bachelor Honours in Photographic Arts from the University of Westminster, London (2013). Foster's personal work is conceptual documentary based, visualising ideas surrounding contemporary cultural debate. The resulting imagery either celebrates traditions shaped by cultures, or explores the theme of borders and their contemporary significance. Being Irish, German as well as American, Foster is drawn to revisiting the countries that shape her own identity. Her work has been exhibited in galleries in London, Berlin, Belfast and Derry.
