Tatiana Echeverri Fernandez (CR)

Tatiana Echeverri Fernandez works in several mediums including installation, sculpture and performance. She studied at the Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf, Germany and at The Royal College of Art in London. Her practice explores the dynamic relationships between bodies, objects, materials and images staged in close proximity with each other, placed in jarring combinations or awkward positions. Through the use of found materials and images, Echeverri Fernandez finds ways to reinvest obsolete objects and historical forms with renewed social value whilst mapping out their previous ideological referents. Solo exhibitions include; A leopard cannot change its spots/sad lone scorpions can’t get a path and ERR OUT at Reception, Berlin (2013 and 2012), DIN 201 at Cabinets, SE8, London (2009), MCA 04 - New Plane at Malta Contemporary Art, Malta (2009), Werkstatt des Albhabets at Carl Freedman Gallery, London (2008). Tatiana Echeverri Fernandez lives and works in Berlin.
