Padyn Humble is a sculptor whose work investigates social norms and the way they influence identity. Through combination, exaggeration, and abstraction he reinterprets the intention of our social and cultural objects or images to construct meaning through a queer perspective. Inspiration for his work stems from various influences like cartoons, the uncanny, pop culture, kitsch, and masculine aesthetics. Humble has been an active artist since 2014. Since then, he has held over ten solo shows, cofounded a collective, and curated eight large exhibitions. He received his BFA in painting from the University of Montana. In 2019, he was an artist in residence at Bunker Projects in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and was a resident at The Chautauqua School of Art 2020.
